Frequent questions
A few things parents ask before starting
We are new to homeschooling. Where should we start?
Choose a familiar theme and sit down together. Name a few pictures, show one match and let your child try. A short activity alongside your usual stories and play is a good starting point.
Do we need to follow the pages in order?
No. Follow your child’s interests or choose a page that relates to what you are already doing. Repeating the same page is fine, too. There is no daily quota or finish line.
What if my child is not ready for letters or tracing?
Start with pointing, naming and matching. You can talk about an animal or find a colour together, then leave the writing pages for when your child is interested. The recommended age range is 3 to 5, with help matched to your child.
How long should we spend on an activity?
There is no set session length. Follow your child’s attention and energy. One or two matches may be enough today; another day they may want to stay with the page. You can always come back to it.
Can we use it while an older sibling has a lesson?
Yes. Set up a familiar activity nearby so your preschooler can join you at the table. Stay available to help and supervise the separate pieces and markers. You can choose how much help to give as you work alongside them.
Can siblings share one book?
You can take turns choosing a page, naming the pictures or placing the pieces. If both children like having their own activity open at the same time, a book each gives them that choice. Check the recommended age guidance for each child.
